Stress Leads to Heart Disease

Mention one of the leading fatal diseases for people all over the world and heart disease is unavoidable. Heart disease can happen to anyone, even people who exercise regularly. One of the causes of heart disease is stress. Other causes, such as enlarged heart muscle tissues, cardiac valve anomalies, hypertension, high blood cholesterol levels due to fatty diets, diabetes, smoking and alcohol consumption, are numerous.

In Thailand, the heart disease mortality rate averages two people per hour. For the most part, these deaths occur due to cardiac ischemia caused by arterial sclerosis resulting in acute myocardial infarction. Most patients die completely unaware of their heart disease because this disease shows no symptoms with an unexpected and severe onset. For the most part, this disease occurs in men aged over 40 years and women aged over 50 years.

Detecting heart disease involves noticing symptoms, such as chest pain and tightness in the pit of the stomach, abnormal predisposition to fatigue, inability to lie down flat, heart palpitations, arm and leg edema and occasional fainting. If you are frequently stressed, aged over 40 years and notice symptoms like these, you should be examined by a doctor without delay.

But if you want prevention, you will have to look at causes such as overall stress, stress in your daily routine, overwork, over using your brain, no time to relax or think about positive things, facing only troublesome issues or suffering insomnia. If this sounds like you, you should give your brain a break now and then by participating in various activities far away from your work, such as watching movies, listening to music, playing sports you enjoy, talking about ordinary things, finding solutions rather than worrying about problems, not dwelling on the past and learning to forgive yourself and others. Then fewer diseases will have the opportunity to afflict you, so you and your family can live together healthily for a good long time.
