Question: Does CIGNA Thailand sell life insurance?
Answer : CIGNA Insurance PCL is a Non-Life insurance company that has been certified in Thailand. We focus primarily on offering Personal Accident and Health Insurance. At present, we do not offer Life Insurance plans.

Question: Is a medical check-up required for purchasing Health Insurance plans? How old must a person be in order to be eligible?
Answer : Policy holders of Health Insurance plans do not need medical check-ups, provided however, the policies cover the insured persons in the age between 20-55 of age only.

Question: Is a medical check-up required for purchasing Personal Accident insurance plans? How old must a person be in order to be eligible?
Answer : Policy holders of Personal Accident plans do not need medical check-ups, however, it is for the policies holders of the age between 20-65 only.

Question: What do Personal Accident plans cover? How far does coverage extend?
Answer : A Personal Accident plan covers losses or damages of the insured party’s (claimant) physical injuries caused by an accident. Coverage applies 24 hours a day globally.

Question: What is the coverage term of Personal Accident insurance?
Answer : Personal Accident insurance coverage terms are from year to year from the date of purchase, provided that each premium installment has been paid on-time.

Question: Are medical fees specified in the Personal Accident policy inclusive of medical fees incurred from illnesses?
Answer : CIGNA will reimburse medical fees if such fees were paid for treatment of injury as a result of accidents only. It does not include medical fees incurred from any other illness.

Question: What are the cases in which the insurer has the right to reject an insurance underwriting?
Answer : For the case that an insured has a qualification which not fit into the Term of coverage specified in the policy , or has a qualification that fit into the exclusions of coverage i.e. being over the age limit of a policy. The Company can have the right to reject the underwriting of that case.

Question: Can medical fees be reimbursed from both CIGNA and other benefits provider?
Answer : If the medical fee has been reimbursed in full from another provider, CIGNA is unable to further reimburse the claimant. However, if the reimbursement was incomplete, CIGNA will reimburse the remaining amount according to the conditions specified in each policy.

Question: How can policy holders submit premium payments?
Answer : Premiums can be paid in the following 6 ways.

1. Credit card: VISA or MASTERCARD issued by any bank

2. Cash: No additional fees. Simply complete the premium payment form sent to you by mail and submit it with your payment at the following locations:

  • Any Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn Bank, Krungsri Bank, and Siam Commercial Bank Service Counter
  • Service Counters at 7-Eleven or Tesco Lotus Nationwide

3. Automatic Deduction from your savings account at the following banks: Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn Bank, Krungsri Bank, and Siam Commercial Bank. Simply complete the automatic deduction allowance form and mail it back to CIGNA or allow the transaction from an ATM.

4. An ATM where you have a savings account. Specify the Company Code or Account Number at each bank as shown below:

  • Krungthai Bank Company Code: 6092

Question: What are the documents required for an insurance claim?
Answer : The documents required for claims depend on the insurance plan, such as medical fees due to an accident would require a Company claim form as well as the original invoice. Please contact Customer Service for more information on the specific documents required at: Tel. 02-205-8484 from 8:30 – 18:00 hrs (Monday – Friday, except public holidays). Question: What are the guidelines for coverage payment? Are there any exceptions to the coverage?
Answer : Coverage and exceptions are specified in conditions of the plan upon the purchased policy. In the case of accidental death, the amount of coverage will be paid to the beneficiaries. And if in the case of accidental injuries or medical treatment reimbursement that the insured person are sill alive, the amount of coverage will be paid to the insured. Insured persons or beneficiaries may choose between two methods of payment: cheque or bank transfer.
